CS 6 (13.1.1) PDF exporter paragraph text transparency bug

In Photoshop CS6 if I create a text object with a paragraph of text, and then save as to PDF, it exports badly. Mostly, only the antialiasing can be seen, i.e. the text is ghostly. The same PSD loaded in CS5 will export fine. I've tried every conceivable permutation of options to no avail. I have a very simple test file that shows the problem. The attached image shows the PDF output of a simple paragraph of gray text that looks fine in PS.

This is fairly urgent for me as I'm unable to build some press mechanicals.

Actually, replicating this problem seems as easy as opening a new document, selecting a box with the text tool, filling it with Lorem Ipsum (type menu) then save as to a Photoshop PDF. The resulting PDF will look like above. This is all with the latest CS6 on 2 different Mac's (latest Mountain Lion).

I nuked my settings and font caches and tried it again. Same problem.

If I covert the text to shape it exports ok. This isn't a good option though both because it's a pain, and because I have text (in my real working document, not the simple test) with multiple colors and the like which doesn't translate.
