Why can't I paste formatted text between InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator? when I paste a text frame from InDesign to Photoshop it creates a smart object that opens in Illustrator and is mostly unusable, outlining some of the text and creating pieces here and there. WHY CAN'T IT AT LEAST KNOW WHAT APP TO OPEN THE SMART OBJECT IN??? raw text has all formatting stripped out. why?
what a mess, you would think these apps would be more compatible by now!! this is the one area that microsoft office is actually better at!

If it's pasting as a smart object, that's because the other app put PDF or EPS on the clipboard instead of text.
