CS6/11880 Borderless Printing Problem

Printing with Photoshop CS6 to the Epson 11880: the borderless option is not printing correctly and I can't save the borderless mode in my print options presets. The Page Setup keeps reverting to Roll Paper - Banner. I can get it to print to the edge of the paper on two sides but the leading edge and back edge have a small white border. I am setting this up exactly like I would in CS3 with no luck.

I am working with a Mac tower OS 10.8. I have updated Photoshop to 13.0.1. Thanks!

You'll need to talk to Epson about this issue.

Epson's drivers and the OS maintain the information about the printer options, presets, and page setup. Also Epson's drivers are responsible for how the image prints on the page -- the driver tells Photoshop what the print area is, and Photoshop prints in that area.

Photoshop did change from the old Carbon print APIs to Cocoa print APIs between CS3 and CS6 -- so you are using very different code inside the printer driver compared to CS3.

Chris, I have been chatting with Epson about this issue as well and they are looking into it. I figured out how to get it to print without the white edge. The real issue is that my printer presets are not being saved, which can lead to a lot of mistakes and inconsistencies like the Page Setup and Cut Method reverting to default settings. If there is a fix from Photoshop I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

The printer driver maintains the printer settings and custom page sizes -- not the application. I don't think there is anything we can do directly to help you with this.
