You say there is an update for CS6 available, but when I update, there is an error message which says the update failed.
There is no reason given as to why it failed!
Why don't you give more information?

Is this just your way of getting me not to use CS6?

What OS/version are you on?

Usually if there's an error, it returns an error code or a link that has details or more info.

I did look at the box and there was a code which I clicked on, but when it came up there was nothing in the information window!

Is this just a way of saying Adobe will not update CS6 because Adobe wants just to service the Cloud version and wants to dump CS6?

Since I have the original DVD for CS6 installation, can I just re-install the CS6 from the disk, and then update from your site?

Jeffrey, I am using 10.9.5 at present. Previously I used 10.9.4, but I got the same problem with both. I looked closer at the error message and clicked on the reference number, which was (U44M1P7), and there were three lines as follows: Adobe Photoshop CS6 Support 13.1.2 12-04-2014.log
AOL_Desktop_for_Mac-1.dmg
AOL_Desktop_for_Mac.dmgAdobe Photoshop CS6 Support 13.1.2 12-04-2014.log
On the AOL error message line the numbers run from 13:01:47:162 to 13:01:55:311
Here is one of the lines: 12/04/14 13:01:55:311 | [INFO] | | OOBE | DE | | | | 49992 | ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Adobe Photoshop CS6.app/Contents/Required/Plug-Ins/Extensions/FastCore.plugin/Contents/CodeResources"(Seq 2)

There are 17 typewritten lines of similar error codes info.

Hi Daniel,

"Is this just a way of saying Adobe will not update CS6 because Adobe wants just to service the Cloud version and wants to dump CS6?"

No. It's likely a system cleaner or some 3rd party utility has modified or damaged files on your system. Try solution 2:

http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite...

This will replace the modified or damaged files on your system.

Jeffrey, I ended up having to uninstall CS6, re-install CS6 from my original install disk, then update from the Adobe site.

Just uninstalling then trying to update would not work, as another failure message appeared!

So I uninstalled from the Adobe site, then installed from my original CS6 install disk, then updating from the Adobe status/update site.

Things appear normal now. What a relief.
Thanks
