The shortcuts? Or the tools? Are you using a Wacom tablet?

I just updated to 10.10.2 and so many things crash the app it is nearly unusable. Free transforming objects, Eyedropper tool, editing an existing layer style, updating a text layer... the list goes on.

Yes, and we have let Apple know about the OS bugs introduced in MacOS 10.10, and are working with Apple to get them fixed in an OS update.

But some of the semi-common crashes in MacOS 10.10 are also due to bugs in third party plugins - which just need to be updated to solve the crash.

If you can provide more information, we might be able to narrow down the cause of the crashes you are seeing.

What information will help? I don't use any third party plugins. No drawing tablet, I just rely on the keyboard and mouse.

Hi Ben,

Have you submitted any Crash Reports along w/your email address?: http://adobe.ly/gNJWVY If not, please do.

Otherwise, prior crash logs can be found here: Location of Crash Reports:
/Users//Library/Logs/Adobe/LogTransport/...

Use Method 2 to access hidden user library files in OS X: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/gl...

Does this issue effect other versions of Photoshop? If I upgrade to CC will I still have these problems?

Did you include your email address when you submitted the crash reports?
If so, what address should I be searching for?

The issues that Apple has already fixed in OS dot releases should show you a solution webpage (which says to install the OS updates).

But Apple is still working on many of the crashing bugs introduced in MacOS 10.10, and some third party plugin developers are still working on solutions to crashes introduced in MacOS 10.10.

All of your reported crashes appear to be in a new bug introduced in MacOS 10.10.2, where asking the OS for information about the available OpenGL renderers randomly fails.
We have documented this bug for Apple, and they are working on a solution.
Unfortunately we do not have a way to work around this particular OS bug.

Yes, all recent versions of Photoshop hit the same OS bug..
You may want to consider downgrading to a stable version of MacOS.
