When I clone a spot on a photo (alt-click) and then try to go to the area I want to fix, the entire photo moves - duplicates. And it makes it impossible to place what I have cloned. Does anyone know the answer? I'm doing what I've been doing all along and, suddenly the clone stamp is not working.

I'm about to pull out what little hair I have left!!!

I have Photoshop 7 installed as well. Should I just go back to that?

Is the palette the bar at the top when I click on the clone tool? If so, I checked my computer against his and they are identical. Still the photo moves/duplicates after had has done "alt/click".

No, that's the tool options. The clone source palette is another palette, named "clone source", accessible under the Window menu.
