Photoshop CS5: Can't complete request because of program error (permissions issue)

Working on a Mac Version 10.6.8 with CS5. (Having issues with my email, using entourage not sure if it's related but I get unknown errors every minute according to the error log)

When trying to save to my desktop, it gives me the "Can't complete request because of program error" To be able to save I have to save to an external hard drive and then drag and drop back onto my desktop. I am then able to edit and save for a minute or so. If I try using the transform tool, it will frequently ask me if I would like to the place file before I am done sizing the object. If I hit cancel, okay or place it gives me the same error. If this happens 2 or 3 times within a few minutes, photoshop will just quit all together with an unknown error.

Help!

Sounds like a hardware failure (failing disk drive, etc) or a damage OS X install if multiple applications are affected. Might be time to head to the Apple store.

I'm not sure if that is the issue. When I log into another users account, I don't have any of these issues. Their email account isn't getting any of the errors either.

If you log into another admin user account and the problems go away, that indicates that there are permission issues. http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

I am an admin already...Should i create a dummy account to test if the programs work correctly? I clicked on your link on how to add an admin but it is for mavericks... I am running 10.6.8 and do not see where "user and group preferences" is located...

I would try a new admin account (search the Apple site for instructions for 10.6)
