CS3 won't install. Says its an upgrade serial number, but upgrade is not on the box anywhere!

I bought a sealed copy of CS3. The program installed but when I try to put in the serial number it insists that my number is for an upgrade. Nowhere on the box does it say upgrade only! I have spent an hour running in circles with the support area trying to find an email so I can contact someone who might actually be able to help me with this problem, but the support part of the website sucks and I can't find anything. I am beyond frustrated right now! Does anyone have an email or something so I can get this fixed?

An upgrade means you own a previous version, and use it's serial number.

Upgrade boxes should say upgrade on the box. But "discounted" versions of older software from unscrupulous online resellers might not, and might be just pirated software (plus whatever malware they like to throw in).

And anyone selling CS3 right now, is almost guaranteed to be selling pirated software.
