Photoshop Elements: Cropping size to size required

I have tried resetting the crop tools, and it will work correctly maybe one time. I can't get my crop size to actually crop to the size I request. And when I want all my pics to be the same size, it creates more time to manually resize to the size I want. Please help.

It might help if you told us which product you were using.

Are you trying to get all your images to be the same physical size (inches), or the same size in pixels?

PS9. And in inches. Sometimes the pics on the page will be all the same size, other times, different specific sizes.

PS9? You mean Photoshop CS2 (9.0)?
Or do you mean Photoshop Elements 9?

And you didn't answer the question about what you're trying to do.

Sorry, I have Photoshop Elements 9. I have been working on creating digital scrapbooks. I have done 6 books so far, mostly ordered through Shutterfly, and now I have a problem with sizing when I crop. I got my friend into doing digital scrapbooks also and she has always had problems sizing also, but I hoped when she came back for the winter, I could help her solve her problem, too. I have tried the reset several times, but it does not work. What else can I do? Thanks

Again, to help you, we need to know what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to get all your images to be the same physical size (inches, cm, etc.), or the same exact size in pixels?

Normally the crop tool makes this task trivial, so we need to understand exactly what you are trying to accomplish so we can figure out where things aren't working for you.

Ok. When I enter a custom size of, for example, 3x3", and use the crop tool to make the size, and then I click the commit button. I then drag the pic to the 12x12 page I am working on, and the size comes in totally different. It used to come onto the page 3x3, or whatever size I requested. It should be trivial, easy. It has been till now.

I am working with PSE 9 and have created 6 digital scrapbooks, so I am now frustrated that I can't get the crop tool to work properly. I have done the reset tool option, and it does not work. For example, I crop a pic to 3x2, commit it, then drag it down to my background page. Now it has become 10x6.5. What is going on? I want pics to be a certain size and it's not working like it has before. Help.

Why did you post a new topic with the same question?

You cropped the first image to your specified aspect ratio.
Then you moved that to another image with a different resolution. It still has the aspect ratio you wanted, but the pixel counts differ because of the resolution, and that affects the relative size between the 2 images.

Most likely "before" you specified the resolution when cropping and resampled the first image to match the second image.

Because I was not getting answers. Anyway, I have continued to play around with it, and reviewed all the notes and came up with the simple solution - I needed to have the 300 resolution line filled in. With the resolution left blank, my cropped sizes could not be dragged down properly. Thank you for keeping track of me. I am done with this problem.
