Did you know that when using the "CROP OVERLAY" tool, the "X" or "Shift-X" command doesn't work to reject a photo? Instead it switches from portrait to landscape and vise-versa. Not Cool Adobe and really annoying!! It worked fine until 3.2, hope to see it back in 3.5 Mac OS

What would you prefer to use as a shortcut key to switch the aspect? I like using X in this contect personally, but I can understand how this would affect your workflow.

That was one of my favorite additions during this cycle. The old flip behavior (still there) is a pain.

I want to be able to use the crop tool to straighten photos and crop them but I want at the same time to be able to reject them without the need to switch/leave the crop tool. It can be any shortcut I don't really mind, I was just used to "X" or "Shift-X" to reject and jump to the next one, but it has to work consistently throughout the program as it was until 3.3 came out. Plus on the menu: Photo: Set Flag: Reject, "X" is the command!

Fair point Dino, hadn't considered it myself as I have usually done all my rejecting in Library. Hope the team can come up with another shortcut key to flip the crop.

Customisable keyboard shortcuts, in general.....

This is one of many little lib/dev context issues that drive some of us crazy. I'm hoping over time to see lib+dev modules integrated so that previews+dev-cache are unified, and keystrokes/menus too (if panels were an instant swap, lib+dev panels would *not* need to be merged). I just can't get used to the "do everything in lib module first, then do all dev in dev module..." workflow. Culling and first pass dev are part of the same process for me.

Summary: You've got my vote for this as a "problem", although I see it as just one small part of a bigger problem.

A similar example is the "\" shortcut which means "switch to the 'Before' view" in the Develop module and toggles filters in the Library module.

Personally, I don't have a big problem with context-dependent keyboard shortcuts, but in principle it would be nice if they could be avoided, in particular, if they slow down workflow by forcing one to switch the context (here, leave the crop tool), before the desired function becomes available.

Mmmmmm, and J does clipping warnings in Develop and changes thumbnail size in Develop. That one catches me out all the time!

Victoria, I think you intended to write: "J does clipping warnings in Develop and cycles through thumbnail display options in Library."

Dino,

You're not supposed to want to reject photos while developing - sorry, but you've committed an "ethos" fault, FR/Idea invalid... (tongue in cheek)
