ACR: Crop Tool idea

In ACR, the crop tool has a nice "thirds grid." How about adding a "universal crop grid" that is similar in appearance, but that would show the borders for 2:3, 4:5 and 5:7 crops all in a single drag. I like to send images so that a customer can choose to make a 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10 automatically, without suffering any unwanted cropping loss, and a crop tool like this would make it easy to position the crop accurately. Thanks. I'll look for it in the next upgrade ;-)

Have you tried cycling through the various crop overlays using the [ O ] key? There is a grid overlay that allows you to choose and display various print sizes as you crop.

I'm working in Camera RAW, and have an image selected and the crop tool activated. I can select various aspect ratios from the Crop tool drop-down menu, but when I press the O key, nothing happens. Neither Control+O nor Option+O does anything either. Are you working in Lightroom, or have I missed something in ACR? Thanks.

Well, this is tagged with Photoshop Lightroom so it is appearing in the Lightroom search. It is currently in Lightroom so maybe you should remove the Lightroom tag?

Thanks, Rick. Have removed the Lightroom tag. I've heard from several sources that Lightroom and ACR share the same processing engine, and assumed the crop tool options were the same, too. One of these days I might start using Lightroom, but I like the workflow I use now, and the addition of a "universal crop tool" to Camera RAW still seems like a good idea to me :-). Thanks.
