Elements 14 issue: When I crop a 24MP Jpeg file using the 4x6 size and save as a TIF file, the file is compressed so small the pixels become blocky. Why?

More details please: we do not know if you crop leaving most of the image or a very small part. A screenshot of your crop tool might also help.
If you save as TIF, the compression is 'lossless', so there must be a problem with 'resampling' somewhere.
In the meantime, you could use the rectangular marque tool to select the desired crop, then the menu Image >> Crop. You can use the Image >> Resize menu to resize with or without resampling;

This happens even if I maintain 90% of original image. If I use "use photo ratio" I do not have the problem, but that isn't a solution. Also this problem did not occur with Elements 13 or earlier versions.

To be clear: I can't reproduce your problem, but I remember seeing another similar complaint. Curiously, there was no problem when choosing the 5 x7 format... Would resetting the tool preferences (or all your editor preferences) help?

My guess would be that you specified a resolution value, and the image is being resampled the way you specified (but maybe forgot setting).

Thank you for your responses. I have reset the tool preferences and this appears to have solved the problem.
