Creative Cloud App updates crashes always during download - no error message, just CC restart

Creative Cloud ALWAYS crashes during App updates with no error message. Just CC restart. Creative Cloud Repair completes successfully, and performs exactly the same. This Adobe process is a disaster. Started happening first on my Win 7 desktop, and then on Win 10 laptop a month later. Neither can update, and uninstalling Desktop app has deleted both Lightroom and Photoshop, with no ability to install.

What version of the Creative Cloud desktop do you have installed?

Can you install using the PS and LR standalone installers from here?:

CC Version 4.4.1.298, both on desktop (Win 7 Pro) and laptop ( Win 10 Pro).

CC crashes continually, even when unattended - nothing being asked of it.  System log shows CC crashed 331 times in last 30 days.

Download and install standalone has and is never a problem.  Only problem is that the direct download pages are never the current version and CC wants to update just installed app, during which it crashes multiple times - never an error message, just stalls and usually a CC restarting window.

Just to confirm, it's also crashing on both Win 7 and Win 10? If so, are you running any common utilities on these systems? (Anti-virus, etc?)

Yes, both systems. Win 10 laptop started about 1-1/2 month after desktop. Updated Camera RAW today on laptop via CC - only took 5 crashes, but it’s a small file. Last full app update on desktop (Lightroom CC, before the CC/CC Classic nonsense) took 85 attempts. CC leaves carnage in the AdobeTemp folder, have deleted 35GB of failed install temp files.

Common Utilities, yes. Primarily, BitDefender Total Security 2018. It just sits there when direct downloads tale place and files are installed. Sits there with no error or warning messages when CC goes crazy and crashes/restarts and gives no problems with any other file/program download or install. If there is an issue, it gives a clear indication, but that is extremely rare.

OK. I'm asking someone to reach out to you directly to troubleshoot. Will probably have to look at logs to figure out what's going wrong.

Is there a direct download link for the Lightroom Classic CC 7.3.1 just released, and also the current version of Photoshop.  Direct download links install without difficulty, CC is just a sequence of continual crashes and restarts.

Unfortunately patches are not posted by the web team. I see that my escalation didn't go through, so I asked the team to reach out again.

Unfortunately, it appears that no one else is posting them either.  Latest LR CCC version on direct download is 7.0.1.  What is happening at Adobe?  Symptoms are not looking good.

Then like magic.....the 4.5.0.331 version of Creative Cloud update instantly fixed the update problem on both my desktop (Win 7 Pro-64bit) and laptop (Win 10 Pro-64bit) and allowed Lightroom and Photoshop to update on a single try.  It took over 8 months, but life returns to CC.
