Creating a book from a folder

Hi all,

I organized my photos using LR folders. I now want to create a book from one of these folders, but going into Book mode, I only see collections, no folders.

Is there a way to show the folders in Book mode and pick the images from there ?

(I'd rather not use collections, since creating collections based on keywords in LR is a pain, mostly  resulting in not getting what you want)

Just select the folder before you switch to the Book module - the photos in the filmstrip will be those from the folder. You may still want to save the book as a collection though, as that contains all of the book settings as well as the photos you've used.

(Are you confusing "smart collection" and 'normal collection'... ? ONE way : Select all photos you want in future collection. Hit the + icon next to 'collection' AND tic box 'add selected photos'... , name collection and hit ok)

Hi Victoria,

That's what I would expect: selecting the images you want in the book and press "Book". Unfortunately that is not what is happening. Pressing Book will only show a default cover and two empty pages. The collections are listed on the left, but clicking those does not do anything. So, in short, I do not get to see any pictures when in Book mode

Looking at the tutorial on https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/help/create-photo-book.html: that is not what is happening. Instead I see empty pages:

OK, found it: I had hidden the filmstrip and apparently that is the only place to pick to images from
