LIGHTROOM 6 - Crashing After Cropping/Editing

Adobe Lightroom 6 (non-CC): crashes after cropping single image.

Working from a folder on the C drive, with an individual LR catalog for the folder in the Develop module, after doing WB, effects, and cropping - LR will crash. Does the same thing for different images and different catalogs. Only recently started having this problem after having the program for ~3 weeks. Running with 124gb on C drive free and 16gb of RAM. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program once already - did not rectify problem. Any suggestions?

Hi,

do you have GPU enabled? Have you tried disabling it?
What images is it that you are trying to edit exactly?
What OS are you on?
Which camera have you used, or are they taken from many different cameras?

thanks,
Ignacio

Paris,

You can find out if Lightroom is utilizing your GPU by navigating (On Windows) to
Edit > Preferences > Performance
[x] Use Graphic Processor

I had the same issue and was lead to the following Adobe KB article.

I have an AMD 7970 GPU with the Catalyst 15.7 drivers which seemed to cause freezes and crashes with the latest version of Lightroom. Upgrading to the latest beta drivers (15.9 as of today) alleviated these issues for me.

Sean,

I had the same issue and it was related to my driver version. If you are running an AMD GPU, I recommend trying the 15.9 drivers and giving it another shot.

Please note that freezing/hanging and crashes are two completely different behaviors...
