Lightroom Classic: Crashes when not enough graphics memory available

Lightroom Classic CC often freezes and flickers in black or white for up to half a minute, sometimes even crashes. If it does not crash, previous flickering may leave black bars in tool bars or in image previews, or even render other applications (e. g. Google Chrome) black until they are resized. This often happens when Photoshop is opened as well.

My guess is that it happens due to the fixed video memory setting in Lightroom Classic CC preferences. Lightroom has to allocate only as much video memory as available, not affecting other applications. The amount is variable during uptime and must not be set directly by its user to a fixed value.

I will try to do so once Lightroom crashes again. I am not sure, however, if a crash dump will be created since no Adobe crash report window opens up during the crash and neither does the default Microsoft crash report window. The steps I have followed to allow minidump collection in my Windows 10 machine are described in the paragraph "To collect user-mode dumps": https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/931673/how-to-create-a-user-mode-process-dump-file-in-windo...
Hopefully the same procedure applies to Windows 10 as the Windows version is listed in the article heading. Thank you for further investigation of the issue in the meantime.
