Photoshop: crashing on Windows (video card driver)

Hi. Subscribed, paid and downloaded a fortnight or so ago. Love the program and the possibilities except...... it keeps crashing. Doesn't seem to be attached to any particular action, just get a dialog box that says ' Photoshop has stopped working and windows is checking for a problem ' and then the whole program shuts down (just Photoshop that is, rest of computer still working fine). Nothing is saved unless I have just recently saved so sometimes I have to repeat work, if it doesn't crash again that is!

Help help please, big assignment due soon!

Which OS version are you using?

What does the detailed crash report say (see the system event viewer or reliability reports)?

And by far, the most common cause of crashes is out of date video card drivers -- updating the driver from the GPU maker's website solves that.
