What OS are you working on?  What changes have you made to your computer or operating system since last you ran Photoshop.  Can you give me some idea of what you were doing before this happened?

CS6 worked just fine for many users for many years,so there's got to be something more going on to trigger this issue -- this isn't some new bug that just popped up.  Keep in mind also that CS6 is an seven year old app.  That makes it something of a dinosaur.  Most software companies (Apple, Microsoft, etc) only support two versions back; CS6 was more than seven major releases ago.  It is quite possible that one or more of the APIs the application is using no longer work in today's OSes because they've been depricated.
