When I click on the Lightroom shortcut I immediately receive an error telling me that Lightroom 5 Catalog is corrupt. Not sure why. I just downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud and installed Photoshop and Lightroom. Help?

Hold down the Alt key when you start up LR and create a new catalog when it asks.

You might get the corrupt-catalog message if you've tried to drag-and-drop an image onto the LR shortcut. LR opens catalogs not images, so it might try to open the image as a catalog and that wouldn't work, but it remembers the last catalog opened and will keep trying to open something that isn't valid.

Have you actually done work in LR that you need to keep or is this the first time you've tried to use it?

After downloading you would need to install it, so presumably you did that, and then the first time you ran LR after the install, it didn't work.

If you have had another version of LR installed, before, it would be trying to open and convert that catalog, so maybe that catalog is corrupt.

I'd still recommend doing the Alt-key start and creating a new catalog.

If you can't resolve it by using the Alt key, once, can we see a screenshot of the error message you're getting?
