The Search Replace Transfer and LR/Transporten are working, which means [EXIF DateTimeOriginal] is copied to [IPTC DateCreated]...But if I export the images, the [IPTC DateCreated] field is empty because the copied data is in the wrong format. [EXIF DateTimeOriginal] contains both, date and time. [IPTC DateCreated] needs only date and time must be entered to the [IPTC DateTime] field. So the date from [EXIF DateTimeOriginal] has to be splitted into YYYY-MM-DD for the [IPTC DateDate] field and HH:MM:SS for the [IPTC DateTime] field.

Any suggestion?

Best,
Sven

Correction: It has to be YYYYMMDD for the [IPTC DateCreated] field and HHMMSS±HHMM for the [IPTC TimeCreated

Normally, when working with photos from digital cameras, the photo contains EXIF:DateTimeOriginal and no IPTC fields. When you import the photo, LR will show EXIF:DateTimeOriginal as what it calls Capture Date/Time, and it will also set IPTC:DateCreated and IPTC:TimeCreated to the same date/time (LR will display these two fields as one in the IPTC Metadata panel, called Date Created).  When you export the photo, the EXIF:DateTimeOriginal, IPTC:DateCreated, and IPTC:TimeCreated should all be set to the same date/time -- there is no need to do anything special to get the IPTC fields set.

If you imported photos that had differing values for the EXIF and IPTC fields, LR will preserve those fields.   Is this what you did?

In this case, you can easily set the IPTC DateCreated and TimeCreated to EXIF:DateTimeOriginal without a plugin.  Select all the photos to be changed and do Metadata > Edit Capture Time.  Choose the option Adjust To A Specified Date And Time.   Then click Change All.

Hmm, I just noticed this thread was from 5 years ago -- don't know why it showed up as "recent".
