Photoshop: Copy and Paste Any Text Issue - macOS Sierra

Photoshop no longer allows me to copy and paste text of any kind. I can no longer copy or paste Hex values to be used in/from Illustrator, or any other program; I also cannot copy or paste paragraph text between Photoshop and other programs. Photoshop used to be able to allow us to copy and paste directly between applications.
Please, can that function be activated again?

Howdy Lourens,

Photoshop still fully supports copying and pasting between apps, particularly Illustrator.  And, we also do the hex values for various colors -- I just verified this, in fact.

This makes me wonder if there's something on your machine getting in the way of the copy / paste functionality.  Believe it or not, this does happen far more often than you'd think.  Prime offenders include screenshot apps and tablet sidecar apps.  Are you running any of these, by chance?  Which OS are you using?  And which version of Photoshop?

Thanks,
David

Good morning David

Thanks for the response. Okay, I believe you. There might be an issue with my machine then.
I am running Mac OS Sierra on an iMac 2013 27 inch. So, I don't have additional screenshot apps, but I do have a Wacom Intuos Pro Drawing Tablet. Also, my Photoshop version is the latest update available for 2017.

Do you have a solution?

Friendly regards
Lourens

Good morning, Lourens!

(Or evening by now, cuz I'm guessing you're in the Eastern hemisphere...8-)

I have a couple of recommendations to help run down the problem and MAYBE come up with a solution.  They're not ideal, but...

So, first, not trying to throw Wacom under the bus, but, in my experience with customer reports, their tablet software co-opts the OS most frequently.  So my first recommendation would be to completely disable and remove all of the software that comes with the tablet and disconnect it as well.  I'd be willing to bet the problem is now gone.

Assuming so, I would then reconnect the hardware and try again.  If things are good, I would then reinstall the software, but turn as much of it off as possible and retest.  Then, slowly reactive features until the bug reappears.  Once that happens, tell me what point you were at and I will report this issue to Wacom directly.  It'll take a little longer, but this will ensure the problem is gone for all users.

Thanks,
David

Do you have any extensions or apps on your system that modify the clipboard?

We've seen issues with an application called Notability on macOS hosing shortcuts/clipboards, etc.

If you start in safe mode does it work properly? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-stop-photoshop-mac.html
