converting tiff to pdf, and retain high resolution

If I convert a tiff file with high resolution (1200dpi) to pdf. will I loos this high resolution? I need to convert images in tiff so I can delete parts of the drawing.

That depends entirely on the options you select when saving as PDF.
PDF can save images losslessly, or lossy - it all depends on the options you select.

thanks Chris,

The images were sent to me in tiff, but I can't even open them in photoshop, unless the newer version I ordered allow me to do this. Is there anyway that I can import a tiff file into Photoshop? If I can import into Photoshop and erase certain areas, then I don't have to convert the format.

Please advise.

Photoshop normally does open TIFF images without a problem.
But there are some variants that Photoshop cannot open.

What error message do you get when opening the TIFF images in Photoshop?
