Lightroom: Split Saturation slider into three sliders, similar to the Split Tone Adjustment, Low, Balance, and High

I would like to see the saturation slider being split into three sliders, similar to the Split Tone Adjustment, Low, Balance, and High.

Low is to control saturation in the low saturation areas and High is for the highly saturated areas. Balance is to control the saturation mask.

This would enable the user saturate the low saturation areas without affecting the already saturated ones and/or it will allow him/her to bring the over-saturated parts (clipped colors) to the desired level.

Clarity, sort of, is supposed to do that.

Dorin, did you mean "Vibrance"?

Yeah, Vibrance.

Geez, so many sliders... ;-)

I'm aware of the Vibrance slider and the way it works. It won't give the same results as the proposed idea.

Indeed. My sense of the vibrance slider is that it mostly steers clear of skin tones, rather than steering clear of already saturated colors, but I haven't scrutinized rigorously... In particular, it seems to favor increasing saturation of blue. I would love to see a formal comparison of saturation vs. vibrance.

Good idea, although what I would really like to see is general purpose masking technology, where one could fill out a form: "what do you want to isolate?":

* specify luminosities, saturation, color ranges...
* specify degree of focus
* ...

Then adjust whichever things however, constrained gracefully as specified.

Kinda like a smart-collection of discernable image characterstics meets U-points.

Cheers,
Rob

Good points, but I think devs don't want to clutter the GUI or make the program (ACR) very complicated so I decided to put up my request the simplest way hoping that it will be considered.

By the way, ideas similar to mine but more advance are discussed in
