With latest upgrade to PS CC the content aware tool is no longer working in either delete or fill mode. Also it will not let me set the default app to CC and continues to use CS6. Mac and OS 10.8

Hi Peter, when you say it doesn't work, what do you mean? Do you get an error? If so, what is the exact error?

Does nothing happen?

Or are the results of the fill bad? If so, do you have a screen shot of what you're seeing?

With regards to setting the default app, I assume you did a Get Info on the file types you want to open in Photoshop CC. Mac OS X has a quirk that if you have multiple versions of the same software, the default app is set by whatever version was launched first. So, if you quit all running versions of Photoshop and launch Photoshop CC - then Photoshop CS6 - does double-clicking a PSD open in CC?
