Every time I use fill/content aware to fill large gaps it leaves a series of white dash marks on the border of where it filled. How do I prevent this from happening?

Is this on Mac or Windows? Have you tried expanding your selection by several pixels?

I have the same problem in Windows CS5 ver 12.0.1 64bit This didn't happen until recently but now happens when I rotate an image and use content-aware fill to fill in the corners.

You should be on version 12.0.4 or 12.1, not 12.0.1. So the first thing you should do is install updates.

Thanks Chris. I do have 12.0.4 installed. That seems to be the latest version. Is 12.1 a later version and is it available?

I tried content-aware fill with a few different types of selections, both before updating and since. The problem hasn't been replicated so I don't know if it is just temperamental or if the problem has gone away.

12.1 is the version that comes with Creative Suite 5.5 - it's the same as 12.0.4.

This has suddenly started happening to me too. I didn't touch any setting or default (intentionally anyway). I've tried checking and unchecking in every combination and changing the tolerance number. Really touching everything possible on that tool bar to try and figure it out. Would appreciate any guidance from anyone that has had this problem and fixed it. It seems Dave Breckon's solution came as quickly and mysteriously as the original problem without actually doing anything specific.

This problem doesn't seem very common since this is the only thread addressing it that I was able to find after extensive searching. Help please!!!! :-)
