Photoshop: Constant Guard affects Photoshop keyboard shortcuts

I use Comcast as my internet provider. They recently came out with "Constant Guard Protection Suite" and requested that it be installed on our computers. I did and after that all shortcuts in Photoshop CS5 ceased working. To restore Photoshop to working order, I had to uninstall "Constant Guard" Is there a fix for this so that I can use "Constant Guard Protection Suite"?

Hi Philip, are you on a Mac or Windows computer?

Also, are you referring to Photoshop CS5 or Photoshop Elements 9?

We'll need to get someone to test Elements - it might also be affected.

Philip, I may be having the same issue I'm using Photoshop CS5.1 Extended on a HP laptop also running Windows 7 (64 bit). I use comcast constant guard and have been having shortcut issues with some very strange effects. If I have the brush tool active and use the shortcut to switch to the zoom tool it actually changes the brush opacity or flow if I have the airbrush option selected. Did you notice this behavior also?

Thanks,

Ben

In my case, I got the first shortcut to work and none after that. They simply failed to work at all. When I uninstalled constant guard, everything went back to normal. I think that Adobe and Norton both have to resolve the problem by somehow excluding Adobe products or whatever solution that they can come up with.

I would contact Norton directly. They shouldn't be doing operations that affect other applications in this way.

I think that it would be much more effective if you, Adobe, contacted Norton. I am only one user and your represent thousands of users. this would certainly give you more clout that I would have.

I've reached out to them. Haven't heard back yet. Individual customers have more power than you might think.

You can keep Constant Guard. Just delete guard ID and everything will work fine. This isn't a Norton Product. Contact Comcast or xfinity to get information on this product.

bracket keys to adjust brush sizes was working and now adjust opacity instead of size. B for brush, H for hand,, etc no longer work-tried a new keyboard but no help

Hey Philip, Thanks for the tip. Guard ID seems to be the specific utility causing the problem? I sent a few notes to some Norton folks and never heard back.

I don't believe that this is a Norton product. Contact Comcast, now xfinity, for more information as to the source of this product. You should be able to work out the code so that this doesn't happen to Adobe products.
