This is the stupidest most labor intensive photo album program that I have ever used. I created an album, added only 1 friend to view the album, checked the appropriate "dot" to share with anyone that I gave the URL to, had my 1 friend to join and share with me, and NOTHING!!!! My friend can't view my gallery because the message tells her that I haven't added any friends. This is a time consuming bunch of NOTHING!!! All of this in a span of 3 days and still NOTHING!!!!! The only one that can view my gallery is me!! BIG WOOP!!!

It sounds like you are using Photoshop.com. Sharing Albums isn't done with Friends, but is instead emailed to any email address you use. Friending on PS.com isn't the same as on Facebook. Instead, it allows for collaboration of albums. You can create Group Albums with your Friends. If you are merely trying to show someone your albums, the share function.

What is the exact message your friend receives? Where are they seeing this message (in an email?, an alert on PS.com?)? What are you option did you put a "dot" into? Screen shots always help.
