consequences of deinstalling/reinstalling photoshop cs6 because of El Capitan problems

Since downloading El Capitan last night, Photoshop CS6 is virtually non functional.  A community member suggested deinstalling PS and reinstalling.  I am seeking verification of this approach.  I am a novice at this stuff and would not want to lose all my photo files in Bridge.  Many thanks.  Sher

Did you try?   We need to reinstall CS4 after a crash in El Capitan on an iMac, so your experience might help.

I didn't have to reinstall any of the Photoshop versions after upgrading to MacOS 10.11 (I have CS3 through CC 2015 on here) -- and they are all working just fine.

Chris, that's good to read.  I hope installation goes smoothly (CS4 install was lost in the crash).
