I am unable to keep a connection to Flickr from Lightroom 5. I keep getting an error message "Can't Update this Collection. Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection." My internet connection is fine. Please help.

I already tried reauthorizing and it made no difference. I was also wondering how browser settings would affect this. I use the plugin directly inside of Lightroom; no browser is involved. I am having this problem with the new version of Lightroom, released just over a week ago.

I was having this problem today and tried the above suggestions with no luck. In an effort to try and find more information about the root cause, I quit Lightroom and deleted all the logs in ~/Library/Logs/Adobe*. I suspect it is pure coincidence, but the next time I tried to publish it worked flawlessly.

I doubt that this actually fixed it, but it's worth a shot.

After about three days, it suddenly began working again. The functionality reappeared just as it had disappeared; with no reason why. I still don't know why it quit, and everything I did to try and bring it back was futile. I just decided to give it another try a few days later and it worked perfectly. There definitely was an issue, but who can say what it was?
