Photoshop Elements: Duplicate Adobe ID issue

I have just installed Photoshop Elements 10 and was invited to register for an account access identity. Twice my offered e-mail address was rejected "because it is in use"? Of course it is in use ... I am the one using it? I have NO other e-mail address nor do I need another. Why would Adobe not see the simple sense in such a situation? Obviously, you have me on file from previous registrations, of your other products, so you do know that this IS a legit contact address and an already previously verified owner?
