Photoshop: folder-opening bug in Windows, caused by EXPORT AS

Earlier today I used the Export As option when you right click a layer in CC for the first time. Convenient little feature (although it actually didn't work with my layer style for whatever reason. irrelevant issue though).

About an hour later, I tried navigating some folders in Explorer and every time I tried to open folders, they'd open in a new Window, and none of my settings reflected this change. So after some restarting and Googling, I was tipped by a tenforums user that it could be CC causing the issue.

I did there fix and it worked.

Now, I'm posting this because this is obviously a huge oversight on your guys part, that apparently some of your moderators and support are denying.

This bug is completely reproducible, credible by the fact it just happened to me; and I doubt this is coincidence, and even if it is an incompatiblity with Win10, I think you have some responsibility to fix this. And I also am not seeing any word about it around here, so posting.

Thanks for reading, would love a fix, so I can actually use this feature without having to regedit every time I do.

Fix this please! :'( it's annoying! When I open PS for one session, and hit quick export PNG, it opens the folder where the PNG was saved, it's annoying!!! Ugh!!!

This is caused by photoshop or creative cloud because I am a new user on a fairly new PC and it is now broken because of these programs!

This problem is over 1 year old!!

So I have updated windows. I have deleted this KEY in reg as described above. I uninstalled creative cloud and photo shop and restarted my PC. Now my folders behave as they should. I have now installed the latest version of Photoshop and the folders still work OK, I have not installed creative cloud though. I will use the Quick Export function and see what happens! :)

It seems I was wrong and Creative Cloud software installed itself anyway. After doing the quick export the folders seem to work again.

So, for anyone experiencing this I would first delete the reg key as said above. Make sure windows is updated. Uninstalled Adboe software. The reinstall the latest adobe software. This seems to have worked for me at the moment. GOOD LUCK! :D

This was addressed in the 2017 update. Export As no longer pops an Explorer window to reveal the exported file: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/whats-new.html#fixed_issues
