PHOTOSHOP - Conditional Action based on Document Size OR fix for Image Size options.

One thing I've always wanted in Photoshop is the ability to Batch Process images for use online. There's almost always a need to Shrink oversized images to a standard size whilst retaining their aspect ratio. At the same time it is important not to Enlarge small source images using the same automation.

Photoshop can accomplish neither of these processes at present because it is unable to "resize images to maximum height AND width" such as programs like IrfanView or Shrink-O-Matic.

If Photoshop had a Conditional Action option for Width or Height and the ability to set a value to trigger it, perhaps the limitation in Image Resize tools could be overcome using Actions.

But really... just fixing resize options would be nice. This could be pretty easily set with an "don't upscale smaller images" checkbox or something similar. This could be displayed ONLY when in Recording Action mode. With such a checkbox, the IrfanView and Shrink-O-Matic max height/width solution could be easily replicated via Photoshop Actions
ie,
1. Resize Image: Height 1000px, don't upscale smaller images
2. Resize Image: Width 1000px, don't upscale smaller images

Check out File > Automate > Fit Image, that has an option »Don’t Enlarge«.

Oh my gosh!
This is a recordable step in an Action too!
Radical!
Thank you!

ps. How is this not associated with Image > Image Size... or something similar ;)
