Compatibility of.mov files with Elements 8 and Windows 7, 64 bits.

I am running windows 7 64 bits and elements 8. Elements is not supporting .mov files although it is supposed to. I have re-installed Quick Time which is supposed to use, but elements will still not capture frames as advertised. When importing a video file, elements does not list .mov files. So, what is the problem? Anyone?

I am losing my trust in Adobe!

For anyone whose interested, I was able to get around the problem by using Roxio to convert the .mov file to a .wmv file which Elements 8 accepts. It is very unfortunate that Adobe doesn't support .mov files when the manual says is will! Go figure. After searching the internet it appears that a lot of people have had the same problem with no fix from Adobe.
