LIGHTROOM 5.3: Compare causes problems

I have already earlier seen the problem but not understood it.
Now I believe I understand that Lightroom 5.3 (and 5.2 as well) has a clear bug.
If you work in Library mode and use Compare and then, without exiting Compare you shift to Develop mode
you will always have 2 selected pictures what ever you do. If you deselect all selection and then select
one picture, Lightroom will show you have 2 selected pictures. What the other picture is you cannot be sure of,
maybe the next picture. This causes problems. If you e.g. want to use the settings of a previous picture
Lightroom does not give the alternative Previous but instead Sync since more than one picture is selected.
This was very annoying. Hopefully I now know how to avoid this, by quitting Compare before changing to Develop
mode. I realized the possible link to Compare in Library mode due to a posting on the Internet were someone had
run into the the problem of exporting pictures not intended to be exported due to the same reason of having
2 selected photos instead of the one intended. Hopefully you will get rid of this bug very soon.
If it has already been in version 5.2 it is sloppy that it still is in version 5.3.
My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit. Please comment. (kim.roering@pp,
