If I use Ctrl-E in Lightroom to edit an image in Photoshop a great many PS commands don't work, most immediately noticeable is CTRL-J to duplicate the background layer. Also, all the Select and Filter commands are grayed out (unavailable)

If I close PS then start it from the Windows Start Menu, then select Ctrl-E in Lightroom, everything works okay, except that when there is only the background layer, with the cursor on that layer, pressing the Ctrl key changes the hand symbol to the "no" symbol. Pressing the J key at that point works properly nonetheless.

Someone at Adobe screwed something up in the last update.

same problem here. Open Photoshop first, then click on Edit in Photoshop in Lightroom. This workaround is working for me (still an annoying bug which i already had some updates before. Formated pc in between)

Same problem, windows 10, Adobe Photoshop Version: 20.0.1.
Work around seems to be open PS first, then open file; fails when sending photo to (and opening) PS from LR.
A fix would be appreciated.

@Hongs: the 'solution' is to start Photoshop first and then open the file from LR. That way the shortcuts keep working.

I reached out to Adobe and complained about the issue and also referred to this topic. They only replied I should upvote the issue so the developers would prioritize the issue in the next update.. ugh -_-"

Edit: so everyone who has this problem, please click on "mee too" on top of this page!
