Photoshop: Command Click on Smart Filter Mask icon does not display Marquee Hand Cursor

This is in CS6. Not sure about CC.

In Photoshop, you have the ability to load a mask as a selection.
I usually achieve this by holding down the command key and clicking on the icon of the mask in the Layers Panel.
When you do this, the cursor is a hand, and a small marquee icon pops up when you hit the Command Key.

If you have a mask on a Smart Object - Smart Filter, The hand cursor does not display the Marquee when you hold down the Command Key.

Minor flaw. But when teaching, it makes students ask questions or think they are doing something wrong.
