Hello, I am creating an image in which I require the ability to input the color temperature in degrees Kelvin. Is there a method to input that value without having to convert it to another temperature format? Can I save this temperature in the metadata?

First, "Degrees Kelvin" is incorrect, the unit is Kelvins. (no "degree")

How you use the color temperature specification of the white point depends a lot on how you are rendering the image. Most would use correlated color temperature to get a real-world white point. But I've also written rendering software that used the temperature in Kelvins to specify black body emission spectra.
