Do editing tools get tired?

I like to experiment with changing photo colors. It is fun and improves my editing skills. Recently I tried changing a dress color several times. The little foreground and background squares would no longer accept my changes so that I could paint. Also I like to use the smudge tool and blur tool to smooth faces. The tool also got tired. This has happened about three times recently. By then I am tired too.I usually leave the program and it is OK the next time.

If the program "is OK the next time", that suggests some background process was causing a general system slowdown that a reboot cured.

The answer was a great lead. I found that it was only the selected picture that would still not respond to editing. I printed the original picture, rescanned it and am now editing it. AJ

Glad you got it sorted out! Wish I would respond so well after a reboot....
