Photoshop: Color picker to be consistent

Not sure if this is the right place.

The colour pickers in PS CS6 dont seem to be consistent when showing a real time preview of colours picked.

To illustrate the point: When creating a shape, the new stroke properties panel at the top left has a little drop down, which then shows a color pallete panel (highlighted below with orange border). Click the multi coloured icon top right of the panel (highlighted purple circle) to get the "Color Picker" (stroke color) dialogue box (highlighted cyan border). When selecting a color, I'd expect like other panels for this to update your document stroke in real time. This also works the same way in the fill dialogue box.

It works in other dialogue boxes (i.e. shows real time changes of stroke color), for example in the Layers > Effects > Stroke colour picker dialogue box.

Note: press ENTER or the RETURN key to remove the selection border around the shape before trying the above, otherwise you'll just see the slection border (thats another issue for another time) and not your actual border color.
