Photoshop CS6: Color problems when printing photos on MacOS 10.8.5

Using OS X 10.8.5 & PS CS6 Version 13.0 X 64 Photos colours are way off when I print a photo from PS but, when I open the same image in Preview, the photos colours are perfect. Thinking the printer was at fault, I just upgraded from an Epson R340 to an Epson XP-820. The new printer did not print any better using PS but does a great job if printed from Preview. Can anyone tell me how to be able to print from PS successfully?

Usually this means that the wrong paper/printer profile was chosen in the Photoshop print dialog.

Sometimes it means that the printer driver color settings were incorrect for the paper/model used.

And sometimes it means that the printer driver needs to be updated to pick up bug fixes.

Thanks for the help--I checked all of the suggestions you made and the only change I made was to check the box for Match Print Colours shown under the image to be printed and that seemed to make a difference. Now my photo is the same from PS as it is when I print from the desktop using Preview.
