Photoshop CC 2015.1: Color picker isn't working also the forground background color switcher (x) gives program fault screen

Regretly I am experiencing some problems with Photoshop lately even after several updates it isn't corrected. First I can't use the colorpicker anymore this gives a fault screen, also the foroground background switcher doesn't work, also programfault the B/W mask is working but switcher shows the wrong color

Which version of Photoshop are you using?
Which OS version?

What do you mean "program fault screen"?

just hurray to soon...I thought I solved it with de-activating the animated zoomlevel...and it did worked once but after restart PS same problem again

sorry for the additional comment but I get it working, just in the preferences > general > restoring preferences on exit.....thnx David and Cris for your input

That doesn't look like the PSErrorLog.txt file contents.

And did you save a copy of your preferences that we can examine?

If we are going to determine the cause of the preferences problem, yes, we want a copy of the preferences while they were still causing a problem.

And yes, it would also help to have the actual PSErrorLog.txt contents so we can see where the error occurred.
