Color image previews of tiffs in LightroomClassic CC are changing two black and white when I synchronize the folder

I am on a  Mid 15 Macbook Pro with High Sierra. For some unknown reason when I save a color tiff created from a raw file, I save it to its designated light folder and in the preview bar the image is shown black-and-white after I synchronize the folder.  I can't understand why. If I open the image Photo shop normally it's still in color can I have one image that got converted to Black & White.  Very puzzling. I've restarted and rebooted everything several times. No changes

James, in your message you wrote, "if I open the image in Photo shop normally it's still in color can I have one image that got converted to Black & White." What does that sentence really mean?

Initially when the image previews started showing up as B&W I could open it up in PS and it was still a color image. Then today I had one where the image actual converted to a monochrome file

Hi James,

Did you try to save the file as tiff manually? or Tiff got saved automatically during "Edit in PS" operation?

Thanks,
