Elements: Clone Stamp Tool much slower in PSE 11 than in PSE 10

According to Adobe's 'What's New' for PS 11, 'working in Elements Editor is faster than ever before'. Not so!

I have just replaced Elements 10 with Elements 11.
I am very disappointed with Elements 11's Clone Stamp Tool.
When I drag the pointer over the image, there is a long delay until the tool paints the sample onto the image. I therefore now have to drag very slowly when using this tool, in order to see the result as I paint.

Elements 10's Clone Stamp Tool painted without any perceptible delay.

Have you tried disabling "show overlay" in the clone stamp tools palate? I have W7 64bit and don't have any problem with the clone stamp but found that it works better without showing the overlay as I work.

Thank you for your advice, Peter.
I have Macmini3,1, OSX Intel Core 2 Duo 64bit.
I tried your advice, but found hardly any improvement in clone-stamp painting- speed.
Besides, I really do need the overlay to show, so that I can align clone-painting with the original image, for photo-restoration.
I used the clone stamp extensively with Elements 10, and the clone stamp painted almost immediately, no noticeable delay, so that I could very quickly paint with the clone stamp.
It was one of the best features of Elements 10, but is the WORST feature of Elements 11. I think that I have wasted my money in upgrading, unless Adobe improve and update the Clone Stamp tool!
Regards,
Peter

Strange, I haven't noticed any difference in speed, no delay at all - there must be another reason why it's happening to you...

Agree, I haven't heard multiple reports about this. Sounds like it could be a system specific problem.

It may help if we can could see your Photoshop System Info. Directions for sharing your system info from Photoshop:

Do you have any system utilities installed? They'd show up at the bottom of your System Preferences:
