hi,
i have a problem with my lightroom trial version. as you can see in the lightroom window, my portrait is very sharp and the frecles are highlighted. but, if i export the image as a jpg srgb 2048px (and other dimensions) i cannot the the sharpness overall and there are no highligted frecles.. what do i wrong? you can see the exported jpg on the left.

thanks!

The details are very oversharpened--observe the maze pattern in the sharpening preview area.

This oversharpening cannot be represented accurately with anything lower than 1:1 zoom in Develop. In other words, what you see in Develop with Fit zoom is not accurate and looks oversharpened, whereas when you export to JPG and resize, smaller, this is more accurate.

Hmm but i like the "oversharpened-look", especially for the frecles. is there a way to get a jpg similar to my developer-preview?

thank you, steve! :-)

I would suggest backing off the sharpening in Develop, especially the Detail slider, and then add sharpening to the Export after resizing down. In other words sharpening the actual freckle outlines, not the random-maze pattern from the noise.

If you want to see what the Detail panel adjustments look like in Develop you'll need to zoom in to 1:1 while moving the sliders.
