Hi, I currently have LR6 on a windows laptop. I have just bought a Mac laptop and wish to move my LR6 program and files to this computer with the intention of totally retiring the windows machine. I understand that I have to download a copy of Lightroom classic CC from the web and I can change that back to LR6 when I enter the license number. I see however, that I can only have LR6 on 1 laptop and 1 desktop. What should be my procedure to move all my existing LR catalogs from the old to the new computer i.e do I move the files onto the new computer while it is running the trial mode or do I have to move the license first. If I move the license can I still access the files on the old computer or is LR6 deleted when I un-license it?

Don't download Lightroom Classic - that's the equivalent of Lightroom 7, and only available on subscription.

Download Lightroom 6 Mac version from here: and install on your Mac. Install the 6.14 patch from that page too, as you'll need it to run on the current Mac operating system. You don't need the patches in between.

If it says you're in trial mode, use these instructions to enter your serial number:

If you have Lightroom on two other machines, it might complain. If so, just leave it in trial mode until you've completed the move, or go ahead and uninstall it off the Windows laptop then repeat the serialize instructions.

And so you don't get yourself in a pickle with missing files, make sure you follow these instructions to move the files
