Changing from Library to Develop Module problem

If I select an image in the Library module and change to the Develop module the image disappears from the viewing pane.  The only solution that I have found is to shut down (when in the Develop module) and reboot Lightroom to view the image in the Develop module. Any help please?

At the risk of sounding facetious, I would say go back to the previous version of Lightroom.  The so-called "Classis" version has more bugs than a flock of 17-year locusts, as evidenced by the hundreds of reports on this forum alone.

I have not "upgraded", and I will not unless and until a new version is deployed which fixes this numerous issues.

Adobe pulled a boner here, worse than their release of Lightroom in October 2015.  Seems like a pattern...release crap without sufficient testing and let the users report the bugs.

And right you are David, there are sure lot of bugs. Paul I had a similar problem, although I don't know if it's the same. To fix mine I went to Lightroom Preferences and Performance tab and unchecked "Use Graphics Processor". See if that helps.

Thanks, Roman!

However, I have seen too many posts in this forum to count where switching the GPU off servers no benefit whatsoever.  Adobe—to quote Thomas Wolfe in the "The Right Stuff"—really "screwed the pooch on this one."

Well.....following Roman's advice I disabled the Graphics processor and that seems to have done the trick. Many thanks Roman ;-)

Next, make sure you have an updated graphics driver by going directly to the manufacturer's site (Windows) or updating to the most recent version of OS X (Mac):

Note that the GPU usually doesn't provide much benefit if you're not on 4K displays or larger or on older graphics chipsets, and sometimes it slows things downs:

Thank you John.....I have updated my graphics driver from the manufacturer's site and enabled the GPU and all seems to be fine so far.
