Lightroom 5: Changes after using red-eye reduction-tool are written into xmp, but continues showing "modified meta-data"

After using the red-eye reduction-tool, the little down-arrow (for "modified meta-data") appears, but it comes back again and again even after having written the metadata to disk. This happens with 5.0 and 5.2RC2 (64bit, Win7). Though the -section does exist in the xmp-file, and the file always has recent date/timestamp. If I remove the red-eye corrections I've made from the log, the modified metadata is stored, but then the down-arrow does NOT appear again and again.
Thanks & greetings from Dortmund
