Photoshop: clc.exe not responding (video driver issue)

Everytime I open CC a message comes up stating "clc.exe has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem". If I hit "cancel" on that message 3 black screens appear and go and then CC works. I recently tried using "focus area" under the "selection" tab and CC crashes after the same message. Please advise.

clc isn't part of Photoshop - it is part of your video card driver.

Update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website.

I'm having this same issue. I updated my AMD driver for my HD 6570 video board as well. No change....I do not have this issue when I open LightRoom or my older Photoshop CS6. Been seeing other reports of this around as well but I haven't seen a resolution that works....Any ideas anyone?

Sabin, in Preferences uncheck (in the Performance tab) the "Use Graphic Processor"
box. That's how I solved the problem.

That disables GPU usage in Photoshop. But the problem still exists in your video card driver, and needs to be fixed in the driver.

I found that if I leave Use Graphics Processor checked and go to advanced settings and uncheck Use OpenCL my problem goes away. Not sure why this works though.I would like to have the benefit of OpenCL. Thoughts...

Contact AMD/ATI about the problems you are having with their driver on your system. They can help you clean up the driver installation, or fix the bugs in the driver as needed.
