Why are you unable to open a file?
What actually happens when you try to open a file?

What OS version are you using?

Thanks for your quick respons :)

I don't know Why i cant open it. The photo editor opens normally, but when i click on 'file', and then 'open new file', there appears nothing in the screen. (Normally there pops up a little 'window' where a can fill in the format i want)...
Sometimes, when i press ctrl+O in my keyboard 2 or 3 times quick in sequence, the window appears, but when i filled in the format i want, en press "OK", the window disappears, but my new file still isn't there.

Also if i want to open a existing jpeg file, i get the window where i get choose my photo, but when i want to open it, the window disappears, but the file isn't visible...

Where can i find the OS version? Is that the number behind the version?
(When i click on 'information about photoshop elements, is get a window where behind 'version 12.0' stands this number... "20130925.r.43436"
Or where can i find this?

Again sorry for my bad english ;) I hope you understand me a little bit...?

Thanks :)

No, the OS version -- what Operating System version are you using?

I am having the same problem and my trial expires in 12 days also. It worked about a week ago, but I currently can't open any files. I am using Windows 7. Thank you. I'm a bit upset because I asked for the full version for Christmas and now it is not working properly.

What *exactly* happens when you try to open a file?
What is preventing you from opening files?
