I cannot send photomail or email attachments from Elements 9. They act like they go through, but nothing received by recipients. Don't get any error messages. Account has been set up for Adobe email service, and verification of account received.

I think I managed to set up share to use Windows Live Mail, but elements 10 will not allow me to add any addresses. It asks for a user name and password and then freezes.

If you would, please search for photomail in the problems section and add yourself to my problem so that they see more than one person listed for a singular problem and maybe we'll have a chance of them taking a look at it. The main reason I use this program is for photomail and this is really irking me! Thanks!

Lora/ William,
The issue is related to email specifications and that the team is still working on a solution which involve coordination with multiple third party email vendors.
That is why it is taking time.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

vaishali

I've got the same problem and basically Photoshop Elements 8/9 are supposed to work with Windows 7 but since Windows 7 uses default Windows Live Mail, a web based service, this does not seem to be an an option in the email share preferences. Since outlook and outlook express are now obsolete, why hasn't Adobe updated Elements 8/9 to give webmail email account options e.g. Googlemail, livemail, Yahoomail.
I cannot get the adobe email service to work consistently - it did email a few photos on a couple of occasion then stopped working. Also, it did not send an email for me to confirm my email address, as it says it will in the set up.

Technical help at Adobe wanted a fee for looking into the problem and suggested that upgrading to Elements 10 might solve the problem. However it is not satisfactory having bought Elements 8 last year to work with Windows 7, to find that this emailing function is not operative.

Eureka!

I've managed to solve this problem.
1. Followed the advice in Adobe link http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/848/cpsid_84...
2.Set preferences in Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Mail to Windows Mail.
3. In Windows live mail I created an association with my yahoo webmail account, this is an option, when you open the live mail programme.
4. I did not put my email provider password in Windows live mail for it to receive mail, since I did not want email to download from my default yahool account. However, this still enables it to send mail out from adobe photoshop elements share function.
5. When you use the Elements 8 share to attach photo files, they are automatically loaded into windows live mail and sent and received! However, as noted above live mail is not used for receiving mail, unless you want to use it as the default programme. So if you have a webmail such as Yahoo mail or Google mail or Windows Live Mail. The above solution worked for me.

I was using the Adobe service with yahoo on my old computer and now with my new one. Was working, just quit working. Can't get it to work with Windows Mail either, which I have all set up and am using. I email tons of photos and I'm very upset about this. Please help!

I emailed back earlier that it was still not working. So I tried it again today and it is not working. I wish you could help us figure out why this doesn't work. What is the point of having it if it doesn't work?? I am open to suggestions since some have said it could be a Win7/PSE 9 conflict.

Hiya - indeed - I am still having the problem - I got in touch with AOL/TalkTalk as they are my ISP and AOL's scripted reply is that it is due to their tightening up on email due to a breach of their security - there was a scripted solution but it is way beyond my capabilities and I don't think it is feasable anyway...back over to Adobe - fingers crossed but not hopeful!

I have repeatedly tried sending photos via Photomail (Photoshop Elements 9) to my yahoo address (derekandjennie@yahoo.com) and they are not coming through. I am getting mail continuously at this address so the yahoo address is working fine. The problem must be at the Adobe email center as it was when this happened a couple years ago and took almost a week to get back on line. Thanks!

I noticed that my comments panning Adobe E-mail are not displayed here. I just commented about one hour ago and did receive a copy of Jennifer's comments, so my participation was noted somewhere. Perhaps I did something wrong like not clicking on a button. So, I just want to repeat that although Adobe Photoshop has some wonderful elements (PSE9), it is of no use if their email doesn't work. Unfortunately, my email server is not one of the two remaining preferences: Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. Hence, I must use Adobe - very, very frustrating. Do their staff members pay attention to these gripes?

Are you using Windows 7? I am using Windows 7 with PSE8 and when I click the Share Preferences in PSE8 I have the option of Adobe email or Windows mail.

I downloaded Windows live mail from the microsoft website and using the instructions from microsoft's website, linked live mail to my yahoo email account. Then I chose the Windows mail in the PSE8 Share Preferences and now it works perfectly through my yahoo account, every time with no delay.

Hi Jennifer/Lilian,

We were facing some issues with Adobe email service in past some days. And we have fixed them now.

It should be working fine now.
Please try again and see if you are able to receive those emails.

Thanks,

Elements 10 will not let me use photomail for sharing photos via e-mail. Three steps into the process and Organizer shuts down. I'm using Outlook 2007. It will allow me to use the e-mail sharing function successfully. I've installed all the available updates. How do I fix the problem? Terynlynn

My problem is not attaching photos to e-mail from Organizer using Outlook 2007. I could do that with Elements 9 and am able to do it with Elements 10. Rather my problem is that I can't embed photos in e-mails from Elements 10 Organizer. I could embed photos with Elements 9 Organizer, although in the last few weeks it began embedding double sets of photos and other odd things.
Not put too sharp a point on it, I need a fix for embedding photos in e-mails using Elements 10. Everytime I try (even when changing the e-mail preference), it crashes the Organizer three steps into the process.

Off the top of my head, I couldn't say what is wrong exactly, could be a number of things. Possibilities include a corrupt cache for the available stationary or the stationary files themselves. Has this worked in the past?

It worked well with Elements 8 and 9 for quite a long time, although for the last few weeks I started having problems with Elements 9. Recipients of my e-mails with embedded photos began complaining about receiving two set of photos, receiving photos without captions, unable to forward the e-mails with the photos embedded, etc. That's the reason I upgraded to Elements 10. Now I can't use the feature at all.

Are there two emails being received or are there two copies of the images within the email?

When no captions appear, do all recipients not have captions or only some? If all recipients do not have captions, how long are the captions? Do they contain any special characters? Is it all photos included in the email or only certain ones?

The inability of your recipients to forward the emails has nothing to do with Elements, there is no way for the sender of an email to prevent the recipient from forwarding it to someone else.

It's also possible there is an issue with Outlook. Do you have another email client you can test with? Or try using the Adobe Email Service? Photoshop Elements only builds your email and sends it to Outlook. The last screen that you see before sending the email (where the Send button is) isn't our program anymore, that is Outlook. Anything that happens after hitting the Send button has nothing to do with our application. Before clicking that Send button, check the email, see if your images have doubled up or are missing captions. If they are not but then your recipients report they are, then the issue is entirely with Outlook.

You're responding to my problems with Elements 9. Because of those problems, I upgraded to Elements 10. Now I can't get through the process to embed photos. As I typed yesterday:It works okay when going to the screen with the two boxes on right entitled "Message" and "Select Recipients". When I click on the "Next" button it goes to the screen entitled "Choose a Stationary". Immediately a box pops up stating "Elements 10 Organizer has stopped working...............". What's wrong?

It's a good question, but the error message doesn't tell us anything. So we have to troubleshoot the issue to see if we can find a root cause. Start with working in a new user account and see if the behavior repeats there. Secondly, try with all background processes disabled (instructions here: Win: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404984..., Mac: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455).

If it works while in a new user account, follow these instructions:
Win: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408995...
Mac: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408993...

If it works while in a selective startup, then another software on your computer is interfering with Element's ability to communicate with its support files. The trick is finding which one is doing the interfering, which basically involves turning off half the items and testing. If it works, reverse what you have, turn on what was off and turn off what was on. If it fails again, turn off half of what you have... etc, etc, etc...

OK, I admit to being a little upset, along with others it seems. I just upgraded from version 6 to 10 with the trial version. My issue has always been emailing photos and still I can not upload photos...I use Windows Mail and V10 does not work with Windows Mail either. I do not want to use Photomail. So, if somebody does not respond within my 30 trial period I am going to just move on and discontinue with this Photoshop nonsense.

The only web based mail that Elements is capable of working with is the Adobe Email Service, which doesn't actually have a web page. Otherwise, it must use a local email client. Yahoo is a web based email. You should be able to set up your local client to use your Yahoo mail though, then you can send emails from PSE to your client which will then use Yahoo.

If you have setup PSE to use a client and you get an error message when attempting to send (i.e. you are in the email windows and have a send button), you are no longer working from Photoshop Elements. Any errors you get at this point are from your email client, and thus are out of bounds for this forum.

In PSE 10 I am trying to email pix both as photomail and as attachments. I select the Adobe Email Service, but at the Sender Verification window, the verification email never arrives. I use AOL. I don't haveand don't want an Adobe ID, but can't see why that would matter.
HELP!

Hi Don,

Kindly verify that the email address entered in correct. Also, verify that the email is not in spam / trash folder.
If you are still unable to see the email, go to the photomail workflow and click on the Resend button on the verification dialog. This should resend the email.

Hope this helps.

Glad to see it's not just me. I'm running PSE 10 on a mac, and I can get photos into the box for sharing and an email then it just seizes up. It won't allow me to change in preferences or settings. Its getting old having to drop them onto desktop and pick them out to email.

Hi there - yes I have this fault with PSE11 - just for about a week now - everything appears to be normal but when using "Share" the photos just don't get there - shame cos I really like it and normally it is so quick and easy - hope they fix it soon....photos embed as normal/type text/send /goes to 100% but nothing received at the other end - "lost in space"! Please please help.....
